Astra Coatings, Inc. is the oldest terrazzo company in San Diego. We performed the original installations at Lindbergh Field and the Sports Arena. More recently, we have completed highly visible installations at Planet Hollywood, Gymboree, and Nickelodeon stores. The National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association has honored Astra Coatings, Inc. with an award for our 1998 terrazzo installation on a patio at a Del Mar residence.

Terrazzo is the combination of an aggregate material, such as marble, granite, glass, plastic, or mother of pearl with a matrix material of either cement or epoxy. The poured surface is then ground smooth to expose the aggregate material.

Terrazzo is the perfect finish for bathrooms, lobbies, corridors, countertops, logos, or any other surface that must combine beauty and durability.
